“The Leading Lawyer” - Mr. Sharhabeel Al Zaeem, is recognized as the leading commercial law advisor in Palestine.  His multiple successes serving all levels of commercial clients in Palestine, have also allowed him to be ranked first by many international agencies including "Chambers Global" (The World's Leading Lawyers) since 2000. These achievements are backed by two masters’ degrees, in addition to his bachelor’s degree in law. Mr. Al Zaeem has conducted various professional ,theoretical, and applied training sessions in Europe and the United States, where he attended top level law and business schools' specialized programs.  Some of these top schools included Harvard Law School, International Center for Arbitration in Texas, Yale Law SchoolMiddle East Studies GroupArab Society for Protection of Intellectual PropertyAmerican Bar Association, and many others.  His experience in other countres in the Middle East, such as the UAE and Yemen, has also  diversified his portfolio of abilities and increased his scope and areas of practice.

 

“Corporate Memberships” - Mr. Al Zaeem’s values also extended to make him an important asset to many local corporations in his capacity as a board member or as the legal/regulatory advisor. He has served as a board member with leading Palestinian private and public sharholding companies including, the Palestinian Telecommunications Co., Gaza Electricity Generation Co., Palestinian Real Estate Co., Palestine Industrial Estates Development & Management Co, and West Bank Electricity Co.

 

“National and Development Role” - His contributions to the public sector in Palestine have included participation in the peace negotiations, involvement drafting and reviewing of several areas of the policies and working laws in Palestine, as well as leading membership of many local business community organizations.  He also acts as a Gaza private sector representative and an advisor to many international bodies including the UN Special Envoy to the Peace Process, Quartet Representative, UNRWA Operations Manager, and many others.  In addition, his assigned legal advisory role to the Palestinian Delegation in the peace talks added to his network of contacts and realization of realities on the ground.  After the signing of the Oslo and Cairo Accords, he was invited to become a member of the joint Palestinian/Israeli Legal Committee, as well as to serve as the legal consultant for many other Palestinian negotiating committees.

 

“Voluntary Contributions” - Mr. Al Zaeem also volunteers with many universities, charities, and development NGOs and activities.  These activities include chairmanship of Atfaluna for Deaf Children Society, etc.

 

“Education Support and Development” Mr. Al Zaeem is also well known in the academic field, where he spares time for teaching commercial law at the Islamic University in Gaza (the largest University in the Gaza Strip) as well as training lawyers and professionals who are interested in the field of alternative dispute resolution.  He also sits on the board of trustees of Al Aqsa University in Gaza which allows him to participate in the higher policies of development in this important sector.
